With the continuous development of society, the metallurgical industry plays an increasingly important role in the manufacturing field, and many fields involve metallurgy, and the application of rollers in the metallurgical industry is also becoming more and more widespread. The quality of rollers affects the normal operation, effectiveness, and efficiency of machine tools. Do you know which types of rollers can be classified according to different types? Let's take a detailed look at its specific classification below, so that everyone can have a better understanding of rolling rolls.

1. According to the type of rolling mill, the rollers can be divided into the following three categories:

(1) The flat roll, also known as the plate and strip rolling mill roll, has a cylindrical body. Generally, the roll of a hot rolled steel plate rolling mill is made into a slightly concave shape, which can achieve better plate shape when heated and expanded; The cold rolled steel plate rolling mill rolls are made into a slightly convex shape, and during rolling, the rolls bend to obtain good plate shape.

(2) Strip rolling rod, which is used for rolling various types of large, medium, and small steel sections, wire rods, and blooms. Engraved rolling grooves on the roller surface to shape the rolled piece.

(3) Special rolling rolls are used on special rolling mills such as steel pipe mills, wheel mills, ball mills, and piercing machines. The rolls of this type of rolling mill have various shapes, such as the rolls rolled using the oblique rolling principle in steel pipe rolling, which are conical, waist drum, or disc shaped.

2. Rolls are divided into cast rolls and forged rolls according to forming methods, and into integral rolls, metallurgical composite rolls, and composite rolls according to process methods.

The integral roll is divided into two types: integral casting and integral forging. The outer layer and core of the integral roll, as well as the roll neck, are cast or forged from a single material. The different structures and properties of the outer layer and neck of the roll body are controlled and adjusted through casting or forging processes and heat treatment processes. There are three main types of metallurgical composite casting rolls: semi flushing composite casting, overflow (full flushing method) composite casting, and centrifugal composite casting. In addition, there are special methods such as continuous casting outer layer forming, electroslag casting composite method, spray deposition method, and hot isostatic pressing method to manufacture composite rolling rolls.

The combination roller mainly refers to the inlaid combination roller, and replacing the cast composite roller with the inlaid combination roller is an effective measure to solve the problem of roller breakage. To ensure the required torque for steel rolling, it is usually necessary to fit the outer layer (sleeve) of the roller with the roller shaft through interference. Keyways or threaded holes are usually machined on the inner side of the sleeve, and the sleeve and shaft are firmly combined through splines or bolts. The use of combined rollers has a good effect on solving roll breakage, reducing roll consumption, and improving steel rolling operation rate. In addition, the roller shaft of the combined roller can be reused. In the manufacturing of the combined roller, only melting and processing the roller sleeve are required, which can reduce the energy and power consumption of the roller production and is conducive to energy conservation and emission reduction. On the basis of the absorption and absorption of imported technology, the large H-beam production line of the Third Rolling Plant of Ma Steel has made a breakthrough in the hot charging and dismantling technology of composite rolls. The first professional tools such as hot charging furnace and hot charging rack for composite rolls have been built in China, and the utilization rate of composite rolls has reached 100% through hot charging technology; While proficiently mastering the hot charging technology, the production line has also launched research on the hot dismantling technology of composite rolls, successfully developing a hot dismantling furnace with independent intellectual property rights, solving the problem of hot dismantling of composite rolls. After the composite rolls are hot dismantled in the furnace, the surface and internal performance of the roller shaft are inspected to be intact and can be reused multiple times. The successful application of Ma Steel's composite roll hot charging and hot dismantling technology has effectively met the demand for composite rolls in the universal rolling mill of the H-beam production line. The hot charging and hot dismantling quantity of composite rolls can reach over 100 pieces per year, saving the enterprise more than 10 million yuan in funds each year.

3. Rolls can be divided into work rolls, intermediate rolls, and support rolls according to their purpose.

There are many types of roller classification, which can be divided into different categories according to different types. Each classification has its corresponding characteristics, and each type of roller has different functions, applicable fields, manufacturing, performance, and other aspects. Everyone selects the corresponding roller product according to different needs to achieve its desired effect.
